Murghab
Murghab is completely a different land located at the eastern part of Pamir Plateau and more than 75 percent of the population are Kyrgyz. The difference is that the land look like the moon more than anywhere else, without tree! The Tajikistan’s highest town and the world’s longest mountain glacier is located in Murghab; Fedchenko with more than 70 kilometers width and the two highest peaks of Pamir; Ismoili Somoni Peak (formerly known as Communism Peak, 7,495m) and Independence Peak (formerly known as Lenin Peak, 7,134m) and also the four biggest lakes of Pamir. Experience to stay in Yurt Jarty-Gumbez, with hunting camp and hot spring, beautiful petroglyphs representing chariots in Ak Jilga and also visiting Shakty cave with the rock paintings from early Neolithic period. It is truly a wonderful combination. The settlements dating back to 11th century of silver mining in Bazardara (means the valley of Bazaar). The Alichur Valley- the jewel of Murgab district, ornamented with yurt (camps) encampments in whole summer. You may have chance to see in Marco Polo sheep, ibex and if you are truly fortunate, snow leopard in the distance of Murghab Valley.
