Visiting these three incredible neighboring countries can be arranged in different ways and sequence, we offer you an itinerary that makes you trip easier and on a good rhythm from Georgia, the Bridge between Europe and Asia to Iran, the heart of the Middle East.
Route: Tbilisi-Sheki-Baku-Rasht-Tehran-Kashan-Isfahan-Yazd-Shiraz
Day 1: Visit Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Jvari
In city tour you will see great panoramic views, the Sameba Holy Trinity Church, Metekhi Church (5th century Church), Abanotubani (Sulfur bathes from the 5th century), theTbilisi waterfall, the Narikala fortress and the Peace Bridge.
Day 2: Visit Ananuri, Kazbegi
In one day, you can visit the beautiful places. First destination is Ananuri complex, located at the Jinvali water reservoir, which is famous by its colorful sights. Next you will visit Kazbegi mountains and see the beauty of gorges landscapes (90km distance). You will relax by tranquility in the Gergeti Church, which is located on the top of the mountain.
Day 3: Visit Borjomi, Rabati
Visit Borjomi, which is famous for its balneological spa and mineral springs. You can relax at the excellent natural sites surrounding the Kura River. Next stop is Rabat in Akhaltsikhe, where you will see the ancient city, fortress, palace and mosque. Drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight Tbilisi.
Day 4: Another day in Tbilisi
Near Tbilisi is a very beautiful and historical place called Mtskheta; this city is listed in the World Heritage List by UNESCO. You can see Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, Samtavro Church with panoramic views of the old city and Jvari (Monasteri), which also has breathtaking views. Drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight Tbilisi.
Day 5: Visit Kakheti, Passing the border and arrive to Sheki, overnight Sheki
Sighnaghi is one of the prettiest towns in Kakheti Region. Its second name is the ‘City of love’. Sighnaghi has defensive walls from the 17th century. In this city you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Alazani valley and the Caucasus Mountain. During the tour you will attend wine degustation in the local winery and having Georgian lunch. Drive to Balakan border and enter Azerbaijan. Drive to Sheki. Transfer to one of the best resorts of Azerbaijan. Overnight Sheki.
Day 6: Visit Sheki & Qabala
Visit Sheki City, one of the most important cities of Azerbaijan. Visit Khansarai – the King Palace – traditional bazaar. Have a traditional lunch in Sheki (Dizzi). Visit the secenic nature of the region. After a drive to Marxal region, stay in its perfect resort for the second night. Overnight stay in Sheki.
Day 7: Drive to Baku, Visit Qabala
After breakfast, Drive to Qabala and visit the nature of the Caucasus region. Join the long cable car in the heart of the mountains of Qabala which passes through the four tallest mountains in the region. Each one has a unique station with its eye-catching green nature. Visit Nohur Lake and drive to the “Seven Beauties” waterfall of Qabala. Drive to Baku. Overnight Baku.
Day 8: Visit Baku
Pick up from the hotel. Visit the Old City of Baku listed among the World Heritage sites by UNESCO and also see two other World Heritage sites, the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshah Palace. Visit Shahidlar Street, one of the main attractive points of Baku, known as the ‘Roof of Baku’ with the great panoramic views of the city and the Caspian Sea. Visit the fire temple and the flame towers. Have lunch, and then visit the amazing structure of Heydar Aliyev complex with its unique Modern architecture. Spend the afternoon to visit the city, and in the evening, spend time in the most famous street of Baku: “Targovu” Street. Overnight Baku.
Day 9: Visit Baku, Gobustan, Mud Volcano
After breakfast you will have Half-day excursion near Baku with 67 km distance, passing along the Caspian Sea. You will visit Gobustan Rock Carving (listed in the World Heritage sites) and its 3D Museum. Then, with 20 minutes of driving by Lada, a special Russian car, you will reach to the amazing and unique landscape of the Mud-Volcanos, one of the biggest Mud-Volcano resorts in the world. Drive back towards Baku. Visit Bibi-Heybat Mosque. This is a very special mosque because of its location and view to the Caspian Sea, where you can closely observe the gas and petrol excavation from the Caspian Sea. Have lunch at the restaurant by the Caspian Sea. Arrive to Baku. Spend your evening time in Baku’s beautiful street with its special lighting. Overnight in Baku.
*Optional: Spend time in Caspian Seaside (In case you are travelling from late-May to Mid-September) If you are interested in beach you can spend a day in Caspian Sea’s beach and/or aqua parks.
Day 10: Enter Iran and arrive to Rasht
Early in the morning leave Baku and drive to Astara Border (Azerbaijani-Iranian) border, Pass the border. Meet and greet at the border. Drive to Rasht.
Day 11: Visit Rasht
Visit Municipality Building with its marvelous architecture, visit Rasht Museum of Anthropology. Have a typical traditional lunch. Visit Rasht bazar. Overnight Rasht.
Day 12: Visit Bandare-Anzali
Drive to Bandare-Anzali “Anzali Port”. Spend time in Caspian coastline. Visit Anzali lagoon. Having lunch. Visit Anzali Bazar in the afternoon. Overnight Rasht.
Day 13: Drive to Tehran.
After the breakfast drive to Tehran through a beautiful road surrounded with jungles. Having lunch in Tehran. Visit Tehran. Overnight Tehran.
Day 14: Visit Tehran
Tehran full-day city tour; visit Golestan complex; Inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List. Visit Iran national Museum; which is the first Museum of Iran. Visit Tehran Bazaar. Spend the afternoon in Bame-Tehran (the roof of Tehran) with a wide and beautiful view over the city. Overnight Tehran.
Day 15: Visit Kashan, Arrive to Isfahan.
After the breakfast drive to Kashan. Visit the famous traditional houses "Tabatabeiha" and Boroujerdiha" in Kashan. Have lunch. Drive to Isfahan. On the way visit Fin garden. One of the most unique Persian Gardens which is a World Heritage Site. Overnight Isfahan.
Day 16: Visit Isfahan
A full-day tour in Isfahan. Visit Naqshe Jahan Square. A masterpiece inscribed on the World Heritage List including many other architectural and historical treasures: Sheikh-Lotfollah Mosque with its very unique dome, Isfahan Bazaar, and Chehel Sotoun. Visit Music Museum. Go to Isfahan Soffe with the view over the city by cable car. Overnight Isfahan.
Day 17: Visit Isfahan, Drive to Yazd
Visit Isfahan for half day and see one of the most unique mosques of Iran, a World Heritage Site that holds architecture of 14 centuries. Drive to Yazd. On the way to Meybod, Visit Narin-Castle, Shah Abbas Caravanserai. Overnight Yazd.
Day 18: Visit Yazd
The wonderful city of Yazd is a World Heritage Site. Visit the city and spend full day in Yazd: Masjed-Jame of Yazd, Fahadan district, Dowlat-Abad Garden (Inscribed on the world Heritage List), Amir-Chakhmaq Square. Overnight Yazd.
Day 19: Visit Yazd
Visit Yazd. Overnight Yazd.
Day 20: Visit Abarku, Pasargadea
After the breakfast drive to Abarkuh. Visit Cypress of Abarkuh and Aghazade Mansion. Driveto Pasargadae. Visit Pasargadae Complex which is a World Heritage Site. Drive to Shiraz. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 21: Visit Shiraz
Visit Zandiyeh complex including Karimkhan Citadel, Vakil Bathhouse and Vakil bazaar. Have lunch in a traditional restaurant. Visit Eram Garden which is inscribed on the World Heritage List as a Persian Garden. In the afternoon visit the tomb of Saadi Shirazi and Hafez Shirazi mausoleum. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 22: Visit Persepolis-Naghshe-Rostam-Shiraz
Visit Nasir-al-Molk Mosque after the breakfast, aka Pink Mosque. Drive to Persepolis and visit the ancient city of Achaemenid Dynasty which is a World Heritage Site. Visit Naghshe-Rostam. Driev to Shiraz and visit the different texture of the city. Overnight Shiraz
Last Day: Fly back home and wish you a safe trip.
